As the Architect you will work with or possibly lead groups of architects and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules. Amentum Nuclear Projects is a Tier1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy; we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited architectural program Licensed Architect in Tennessee with current registration or licensed in another state with the ability to obtain TN licensure Experience designing commercial or industrial facilities Experience delivering a range of projects from concept through detailed design completion Experience with International Building Code (IBC) Producing specifications and reviewing work of other staff for technical accuracy and providing guidance Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer‑supplier appropriateness Ability to follow established Amentum quality procedures and ensuring that all work accomplished under their control is done under established quality procedures Experience working within a quality system based on ISO9000 or NQA‑1 Competent with discipline‑specific software such as Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc. Competent with Microsoft365 software U.S. citizenship required Preferred qualifications LEED AP certification Able to lead groups of architects and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) standards and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations Master’s degree is a plus DOE Q clearance is preferred but not required Residence a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office NCARB registration is preferred but not required Experience facilitating charrettes desired but not required DOE experience desired but not required Project Management experience Visualization/graphic capabilities Essential Functions Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing, and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder for supplies, and below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field; there will be occasional travel, work near construction job site equipment, hazardous equipment and machinery, walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas, fumes, noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights. Equipment and Machines Standard office PC; software will be provided. Travel required As needed. Attendance Ability to work in the office is required. Other essential functions U.S. citizenship required. Valid driver’s license Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Compensation Details $90,000 - $150,000 The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good‑faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
