We are growing our US operations, cultivating an ambitious and committed team of mission-driven professionals to apply their skills to solve challenging problems.As the Senior Accountant, you will be instrumental in defining and growing Helsing's US accounting organization from first principles. Your mission is to partner with the Director of Finance to develop, execute, and maintain accounting workflows which yield timely, auditable and accurate financial records. This position will involve partnership with teams throughout the business and offer high visibility to US leadership. You will have a critical role in enabling the key business operations which allow Helsing to answer the challenge of tomorrow's battlefield.Preference to Martinsburg, WV. Washington DC considered.Oversee the day-to-day operations of the US accounting functionOversee inventory control and cost accounting for US manufacturing facilitiesPrepare journal entries, review ledger postings for accuracy and completeness, and maintain the general ledger and sub-ledgersPerform key aspects of the monthly close process including balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysisSupport external audit and due diligence requestsProvide hands-on support for the implementations of financial and information management systems (ERP, procure-to-pay, T&E management, etc.)Have 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting – preferably within the Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, or National Security technology sectorHave a university degree in accounting, finance, or a related fieldAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel (especially Power Query)Solid understanding of US GAAP including cash management, lease accounting, fixed asset management and revenue recognition principlesHave hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, etc.) and procure-to-pay systemsAre energized by ambiguity, thrive under pressure, and are motivated by mission-driven workAre collaborative, humble, intellectually curious, and driven to solve hard problemsNote: We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarized in a few bullet points.Experiencing integrating agentic AI into accounting workflowsCPA licenseUS Security ClearanceJoin Helsing and work with world-leading experts in their fieldsHelsing's work is important.
