Marketing & Communications Manager

Location Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History – Bardstown, Kentucky (On-site with some remote flexibility) Lead the Oscar Getz Museum’s marketing and communications efforts to expand our reach, engage audiences, and amplify our mission. As Marketing & Communications Manager, you’ll craft compelling campaigns that connect bourbon enthusiasts, history buffs, and tourists to our unique cultural offerings. About the Role The Marketing & Communications Manager develops and executes strategic marketing plans across digital, print, and media channels. This role manages the museum’s brand, public relations, social media presence, and advertising to drive visitation, membership, and fundraising. The ideal candidate combines creativity with analytical skills to measure impact and optimize outreach. Responsibilities Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies to promote exhibits, events, and programs. Manage the museum’s website, social media accounts, email newsletters, and digital advertising campaigns. Create and oversee content production including press releases, blog posts, videos, and promotional materials. Cultivate media relationships and handle public relations inquiries. Analyze marketing metrics and prepare reports to inform strategy adjustments. Collaborate with Development and Education teams on joint campaigns and messaging. Coordinate branding efforts to ensure consistent voice and visual identity. Oversee vendor relationships including graphic designers, photographers, and ad agencies. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field. 3+ years of marketing or communications experience, preferably in museums, cultural institutions, or nonprofits. Proficiency with digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, SEO, social media platforms, email marketing). Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Experience managing websites and content management systems (e.g., WordPress). Ability to analyze data and measure campaign effectiveness. Excellent project management and interpersonal skills. Bonus Skills Knowledge of bourbon culture and heritage tourism. Graphic design and multimedia production experience. Experience with paid media buying and budgeting. Bilingual or multilingual.
