Clerical Coordinator | Singing River Cardiology Clinic - Biloxi and Ocean Springs

Position Overview The Clerical Coordinator oversees clerical functions of the department, represents the department on hospital committees and task forces, and prepares office reports and correspondence. Assists with maintaining records for orientation, in-service training, pest control, attendance, and medical/hazardous waste. Updates and maintains appropriate manuals as instructed. Participates in performance improvement activities. Notifies Maintenance or Construction departments concerning mechanical failures or the need to repair equipment or furniture. Orders all office supplies and maintains an inventory of materials used. Shift and Location Shift: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–12:00pm. Location: Singing River Cardiology – Biloxi, Singing River Cardiology – Ocean Springs. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred; associate’s degree with courses in business preferred. Experience: Minimum two (2) years of clerical experience in a healthcare Environmental Services setting preferred. License/Certification: N/A. Physical Demands Work is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office and facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Requires exerting a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including human bodies. Uses repetitive motions such as substantial movements of the wrists, hands, or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as a computer keyboard. Requires close visual acuity and the ability to adjust focus from a computer monitor to close work. Must be able to be active for extended periods without undue fatigue. Must adapt to changing schedules as needed. Mental Demands Must demonstrate keen mental faculties and assessment and decision-making abilities. Requires superior communication skills—speaking and enunciation to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Strong written communication skills, emotional stability, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multi-task in complex situations. Must maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations. Special Demands Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette. Requires proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (keyboard proficiency) and other office technology (telephone, fax, MS Outlook, Word).
