Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary Provides direct nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Contributes to the overall care plan of assigned patients. Key Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Monitor patient vital signs and condition, reporting any changes to the Registered Nurse. Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers. Perform basic nursing procedures such as wound care, IV insertions, and blood transfusions. Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record. Educate patients and families on their care plan and discharge instructions. Maintain a safe and clean patient environment. Schedule / Shift 3 days a week with every other weekend. 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Required Qualifications Basic Med/Surg experience. Experience with post‑operative patients, especially orthopedic. Experience with blood transfusions, IV, and central line maintenance. Experience Basic Med/Surg experience. Experience with post‑operative patients, especially orthopedic. Skills Performing procedures such as blood transfusions, IV, and central line maintenance. Utilizing Computer on Wheels (COW), Pyxis, and Welch Allyn vital sign machines. EMR / Systems Medhost (transitioning to Meditech) Patient Population Adult medical and surgical patients. Unit / Specialty Medical Surgical (MS2 & MS3) Floating / On-Call Must be willing to float between MS 2 and MS 3. Certifications BLS certification is required.
