Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role requires a commitment to providing optimal patient care in an outpatient chronic and acute dialysis setting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in dialysis procedures and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.

Schedule

• Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (05:30 - 18:00)
• Weekly Guarantee Hours: 40 hrs.
• Schedule: Monday - Friday; 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM, 4 days per week, depending on department needs
• Weekends/Holidays: Occasionally needed for extended hours, 10-hour shifts may be required

Responsibilities

• Provide care and treatment for patients undergoing dialysis, including monitoring vital signs and ensuring patient safety.
• Administer blood and blood products as needed.
• Perform dialysis-related procedures and troubleshooting of equipment alarms.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatment options and lifestyle adjustments for chronic kidney disease management.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Be responsible for the charge nurse role when assigned, overseeing a 24-chair unit and providing acute coverage for an 8-station area.

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 1 year of experience in dialysis.
• Charge Nurse experience is required.
• Experience in outpatient chronic and acute dialysis is essential.
• BLS certification is required.
• Ability to perform various dialysis-related skills, including cannulation of AV grafts and fistulas.
• Familiarity with Fresenius 20008T equipment and various dialysis alarms and monitoring systems.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage emergency situations effectively.

Additional Information

This position may require floating to various other dialysis locations within the region. Call coverage may also be expected during non-business hours and weekends. Candidates must be willing to adapt to department needs and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
