TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Rochester, New York, 14626!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year required License: New York license required in hand to submit Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement is required. Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias. Experience with rapid response teams. Description: RNs are responsible for patient care in a medical surgical/telemetry setting. They are required to perform phlebotomy and place IVs as part of their duties. Nurse-patient ratios are generally 6 to 7 patients per RN on night shifts and may stretch to 8 to 10 if staff members call in. Staffing includes Patient Care Technicians who assist with vital signs and daily living activities. RNs must float between units and adapt to facility needs. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. The unit cares for a variety of patient diagnoses, including different cancers, sickle cell crisis, sepsis, and organ failure. Equipment includes CADD pumps, SCD pumps, wound vacs, and tube feeding pumps. Epic is the preferred charting system. Isolation precautions and PPE are standard practices. RNs will be engaged in team-based care, collaborating with various disciplines. Continuous education and training are essential for maintaining required competencies. Effective communication skills are vital for collaboration and patient interaction.
