We value effective communication and honesty and believe teamwork based on mutual respect is key to success.Provides direct outpatient care in a physician driven; hospital-based wound care department. Coordinates wound care for each patient specific to their needs. Communicates with other departments in the hospital, primary care providers and all wound clinic staff in regards to the patient plan of care and optimal wound healing outcome. Responds to changes in the patient’s medical status through communication with providers as needed. Ability to perform wound care assessments on a patient. Ability to implement and revise plan of care as indicated by the patients response to their treatment. Knowledge of medication and their correct administration based on age of patient and their clinical condition. Maintains current certifications through continuing education. Responsible for nursing documentation related to patient consults and treatment. Provides efficient, quality centered, cost effective wound care for each patient.Current unrestricted Wyoming RN or LPN license. BLS certification. Previous experience in Wound Care preferred. Knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, pharmacology, and equipment. Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Basic computer knowledge, data entry, word processing, excel, EMR (Cerner). Maintain confidentiality. Possible exposure to blood and or body fluids / infectious disease / hazardous waste requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Exposure to odorous chemicals / specimens and Latex products. Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required.
