Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department

Unit Notes Med Sol prescreens/auto offer & manager has 24 hrs to rescind need 2 sup refs from modality submitting to (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 w/in 12 mo. & 1 w/in 3 years worked Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered. ***PRIOR TO SIGNING, THE DYS EXAM THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED AND MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 24-48 HRS. IT'S PASS OR FAIL AND THEY GET 2 ATTEMPTS (TEST A SHOULD BE ASSIGNED FIRST, TEST B SHOULD BE ASSIGNED FOR THE RETAKE). A SCREENSHOT SHOWING THE NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS IS REQUIRED. **We can accept a Dys exam within the last 12mo if the traveler has previously taken** If your traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for CommonSpirit AZ and Sac - Unit: ED - # bed: 18 bed with 4 fast track included. - No triage for agency RNs - BHU (Behavioral Health Unit: Tandy Burton) mental health nurses see the mental health patients - Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS - Ratios: 1:4' - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief. - Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - Holidays: Rotate in with core staff - Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy. - Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. - Vents: Not common - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, Hospitalist or Intensivist - IV Team: No - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes - Shifts: 12 hr shifts. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available. - Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen. - Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor. - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CP r/o MI, exacerbation of chronic diseases, psych holds. All major cases transported to San Juan or Mercy General. Additional Notes: General community hospital ER patients.
