Job Summary:
A critical care registered nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing is sought for a facility in South Charleston, West Virginia. The position involves working in a high-acuity environment caring for critically ill adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with complex needs and life-threatening conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: South Charleston, West Virginia
• Position: ICU Nurse Intensive Care Unit
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, Nights (6:45 pm to 7:15 am) and Days (6:45 am to 7:15 pm)
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, with rotational weekend, holiday, and holiday rotation with core staff
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), ICU experience of two years, travel experience required
• Preferred Qualifications: Not specified
• Float: Required to float to Stepdown; if not needed in Stepdown, may float to Medical-Surgical or Telemetry units, including care for Stepdown or ICU patients in the Emergency Department, with full patient load of 5-6 patients
• Additional Information: The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, occasionally 1:3, and manages critically ill patients with complex needs, including invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, critical drips titration, and ventilator management. The facility uses EPIC (Electronic Patient Record) system for charting. Orientation includes general hospital and nursing-specific training, computer training, and preceptor shifts. Uniform is navy scrubs, solid color, no embroidery or patterns, with appropriate footwear. The organization employs a hospitalist 24/7, with intermittent availability of an intensivist and respiratory therapy services. Telemetry monitoring is available on the unit. Candidates must hold a current RN license to submit for consideration.
