Application Support Engineer

Job Title: Application Support Engineer Location: Shelby Township, MI Department: Sales/Engineering Reports to: Dir. Of Business Operations & Strategic Accounts Must be a U.S. Citizen & be able to work on-site in Shelby Township, MI Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Applications Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will serve as a crucial link between our technical team and our customers, providing expert guidance on the integration and application of our products. You will be responsible for supporting clients in optimizing our solutions for their specific needs, ensuring successful implementation and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Technical Support: Provide in-depth technical support to customers during the pre-sales and post-sales processes, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to product functionality and application. Product Demonstrations: Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions to educate customers on the capabilities and benefits of our solutions. Customer Collaboration: Work closely with Regional Sales Managers, Integrators, and End Customers to understand their requirements, customize solutions, and provide recommendations to enhance their operations. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, FAQs, and training materials to facilitate effective product use. Feedback Loop: Collect and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and enhancements, collaborating with the engineering team to drive continuous improvement. Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for product improvement and market differentiation. Project Management: Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines are met and deliverables align with customer expectations. System Deployment Support: Responsible for being the technical expert and assisting on the deployment of our System products (Hole Closure, Drop on Demand, and Cavity Waxing) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. At least 1 year experience as an Applications Engineer or in a similar technical role. Strong understanding of robotics & automation cells, and general integration processes, with the basic ability to program industrial robots (mainly Fanuc, and for internal demo cells). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency in robot & PLC programming is highly desired Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites for on-site support and training, and trade shows. 15-30% on average What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package, depending on the candidate and years/type of experience.
