Maintenance Technician II (2nd Shift)

Position Maintenance Technician II – 2nd Shift (3:00 – 11:30 pm) – Atrium Health Union West, Matthews, NC. Schedule & Pay Full‑time, 40 hrs/week. Pay range $26.55–$39.85/hr. Responsibilities Perform facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards; document through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, and controls within defined parameters with moderate guidance. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient‑care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, and tables where not maintained by other departments. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical/electrical systems (pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigeration, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas, specialized water systems) within defined parameters with moderate guidance. Perform routine to moderately complex general maintenance tasks in grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal. Respond to emergencies (leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages, equipment failures) as directed or within defined emergency response plans. Respond to building occupant requests promptly; perform zone maintenance rounding; keep requesters apprised of the status of corrective actions and service requests. Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks. Inspect and repair fire doors, hardware, firewalls, and smoke partitions. Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to acquire knowledge needed to complete assignments. Qualifications Licensure/Certification: Driver's license required. Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: 2‑4 years of equipment maintenance. Knowledge and Skills: Basic computer skills (CMMS, building automation, Microsoft Office); good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical equipment. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, and reach above shoulders routinely. Must lift up to 15 lb. from floor to overhead, up to 50 lb. from floor to chest level, and carry up to 50 lb. at waist height for a reasonable distance. Must push/pull with 50 lb. of force. Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards with knowledge of safety precautions. Position requires travel and may expose to road/weather hazards.
