Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 7P-7A Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required, 5 years preferred License: RN license required Certifications: CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, EKG required Must-Have: Travel Experience Description: Assesses and reassesses young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process. Demonstrates basic competency in specialized procedures and equipment. Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients utilizing established standards and practices. Performs direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with specialists as required, and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care. Conducts a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and performs re-assessments as per policy. Provides individualized, age-specific care that supports homeostatic regulation, hemodynamic monitoring, and physiologic functioning. Maintains accurate and ongoing nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity while maintaining patient confidentiality. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Functions as a patient advocate. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles for age-appropriate care. Interacts professionally with patients and families and involves them in the formation of an individualized plan of care. Reviews, revises, and updates the plan of care daily. Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates its effectiveness. Supervises other healthcare staff involved in patient care. Demonstrates ability to assist physicians with procedures. Responds promptly to changes in workload to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency. Participates in performance improvement activities to improve patient outcomes and processes. Functions as a preceptor to orient new employees. Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs and workshops. Maintains operation of patient care equipment and ensures an adequate stock of supplies. Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and ability to function under stress. Meets all departmental competencies. Performs housekeeping duties when needed. Assists with transportation of patients when required. Adheres to dress code and policies addressing infection control and safety. Performs other related duties as assigned. Serves as a team leader and role model for other staff members.
