Senior Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to support and lead maintenance activities within a highly automated industrial environment. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting of advanced equipment with leadership responsibilities, helping ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience with automated systems, and the ability to mentor and support a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of maintenance technicians, providing training and technical guidance.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated production and material handling equipment.
• Install, wire, and diagnose electrical and control components including sensors, relays, motor controls, drives, and related devices.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment and facility systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Complete maintenance work orders, inspections, and repair documentation accurately.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs and improve equipment reliability.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend process or equipment improvements.
• Maintain compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or similar environments.
• 1+ year of recent leadership, supervisory, or lead technician experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience working with automated equipment and industrial controls.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, sensors, relays, PLCs, and control systems.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Ability to read technical documentation, schematics, and work orders.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining automated production, packaging, conveyor, or material handling systems.
• Experience in industrial maintenance, military maintenance, automotive maintenance, or similar technical fields.
• Technical degree, apprenticeship, military training, certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience working with robotics, automation, or high-speed equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Monee, IL.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $37.50 - $37.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
