Job Description: Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is responsible for designing and developing custom sheet metal and structural components used in a variety of commercial and industrial applications. This role focuses on transforming customer requirements into manufacturable designs through SolidWorks, ensuring accurate documentation, bills of materials, and smooth handoff into production. The position offers the opportunity to manage projects from concept through completion while contributing to high‑visibility, custom‑engineered solutions in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements to understand functional needs and design intent for sheet metal and structural assemblies.
• Develop mechanical designs and variations for fabricated components in SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain accurate BOMs for materials, hardware, and assemblies.
• Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely identification of required materials.
• Release finalized designs with complete drawings, models, and documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical and optimized for fabrication.
• Work with sales, marketing, and quality to align designs with customer and internal standards.
• Support product development through design updates, improvements, and new configurations.
• Assist project management by tracking progress and coordinating tasks from concept to release.
• Use EPDM or similar tools to manage files, revisions, and engineering documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, fabrication processes, and product performance.
• Work hands‑on with production teams to validate design intent and understand fabrication methods.
• Maintain strong attention to detail across all design work and documentation.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 6+ months of SolidWorks design experience (can be internship)
• At least 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving sheet metal fabrication.

This is a Permanent position based out of Pardeeville, WI.

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $70000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Pardeeville,WI.
