Duties

As a Health Systems Specialist, you will:

1. Assist the project leader in a broad range of Quality Management (QM) and health care program inspections and evaluations.
2. Independently research and analyze complex issues in preparation for project development, identify potential QM/health care program problem areas and design projects to assess those issues, and complete individual assignments to independently evaluate complex and sensitive QM/health care program issues
3. Plan, coordinate, and/or conduct extensive pre-inspection research, and provide appropriate guidance where such is needed.
4. Identify existing information sources from which to obtain a sufficient data base to facilitate the team's understanding of the entity to be inspected or evaluated and to identify possible problem areas that require further development.

Duty locations are limited to the following for this position: Baltimore, MD; San Diego, CA; Aurora, CO; Washington, DC; Kansas City, MO; Las Vegas, NV; Dallas, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; Seattle, WA; Spokane, WA; Trenton, NJ; Durham, NC; Frederick, MD, Chicago, IL(Hines); Bay Pines, FL; Manchester, MA; Austin, TX; Portland, OR, Cleveland, OH; Gainesville, FL. Remote work may be considered if a qualified candidate is not within the local commuting area of any duty station listed above. Current VA OIG employees will remain in current duty location. Other locations TBD based on space availability at the time of close.
