Commercial Real Estate Lawyer (In-House)

Our client, a leading U.S. financial institution, is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Lawyer to support its legal team on a full-time basis. This position is based in Charlotte, NC with a hybrid schedule requiring three days/week onsite.

This professional will provide legal support across a broad range of commercial real estate matters, including leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, property operations, and strategic real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience managing sophisticated real estate matters in a law firm or in-house legal environment and will serve as a trusted partner to internal business stakeholders and legal colleagues.

We are actively seeking Commercial Real Estate Lawyers located in Charlotte, NC with the following qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Approximately 8-10 years of commercial real estate experience gained in a law firm, corporate legal department, or combination thereof.
• Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial real estate leases and related agreements.
• Experience supporting real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and portfolio management matters.
• Strong understanding of commercial real estate operations and related legal considerations.
• Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues, assess risk, and provide practical business-oriented advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across legal and business functions.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative legal team.
• Experience supporting financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries is preferred.

Support our client on the following:

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial real estate leases and related agreements.
• Support real estate acquisition, disposition, and transaction activities across a diverse property portfolio.
• Advise on commercial real estate matters involving owned and leased properties, including operational and strategic initiatives.
• Analyze and resolve legal issues relating to maintenance obligations, easements, condemnations, property disputes, landlord-tenant matters, and purchaser-seller matters.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys, business stakeholders, and external advisors to facilitate real estate transactions and operational objectives.
• Research complex legal issues, evaluate risks, and develop practical solutions to support business and legal goals.
• Build effective working relationships with internal clients and legal team members while proactively identifying issues and opportunities for support.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Support additional transactions, initiatives, and special projects as needed.
