About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong background in federal and government contracting, particularly within the construction industry. This high-impact role demands a hands-on, forward-thinking leader with a deep operational mindset to enhance the financial performance of a mid-sized, mission-driven private organization. The successful candidate will have direct experience in supporting design and build, general construction, and technical services within competitive federal contracting environments, including cost-plus, fixed-price, and multi-site project execution. As CFO, the primary responsibility will be to partner with the CEO to elevate financial performance across a multi-LLC federal contracting structure, lead a remote finance and accounting team, and drive operational excellence across multiple divisions. The ideal CFO for this role will have executive financial reporting and accounting leadership experience in large, complex organizations, a strong understanding of the federal construction bid process, and expertise in financial planning, risk management, compliance, and operational finance. A collaborative leadership style, exceptional business acumen, emotional intelligence, and advanced accounting/FP&A skills are essential. While a CPA is preferred, it is not required. The role is suited for a strategic yet hands-on finance executive who can align financial strategy with operational objectives, improve business performance, and support scalable growth in a dynamic, multi-entity organization. The position is fully remote, with travel to various business locations, and offers the opportunity to be part of a long-serving executive team focused on sustainable growth and long-term value.
