Health Information Management Specialist - YAI/CST (Manhattan)

The Center for Specialty Therapy Clinic provides Nutrition, Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy along with Psychotherapy and Mental Health assessments. We specialize in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and offer high-quality primary care and specialty outpatient services trained in their unique needs. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with medical records ongoing tasks Assist with medical records projects Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired Punctual and disciplined Organizational skills Ability to multitask Ability to work alone Education and Experience Required Prior experience working for an office/clinical office setting preferred Any classes pertaining to health information management preferred Intern Will Learn/Develop Research Data Analysis Organizational skills Reviewing Medical Information Technology use HIPAA Compliance Laws Supervision The intern's schedule will match with the days and times supervisors are on site. Students will complete training in their respective tasks while being observed along the way. Interns will be supervised by the clinics Assistant Supervisor, Office Manager, and Medical receptionist. All will remain available and approachable to students for questions and guidance. This is an unpaid internship opportunity that is only open to current students. The internship may be able to satisfy course credit if approved by the student's institution of learning.
