Job TitleMachinist/Welding TechnicianHourly Rate: $24.75Job Summary: To machine and weld components to support Research & Development (R&D) and ProductionResponsibilities/Duties:Efficiently fabricate and modify parts to print specificationJig and weld parts to print specificationsProperly assemble and weld components to blueprint specificationsProgram and operate CNC machinery including but not limited to CNC Waterjet and Press BrakePerform preventative maintenance and repairs on CNC WaterjetDesign and develop tooling, including punches, tools, and fixtures, to support complex in-house part manufacturing processes with tool and die designsOperator manual milling machine with tight tolerances precisionUse 3D modeling to manipulate parts and models to determine bending and machining techniquesCross train in other functions of the Machine Shop as necessaryEnsure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to managementComplete the annual CTPAT Security TrainingFocus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgmentWork effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectationsAssist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all timesRequired Skills:Must be a team player, friendly, detail-oriented, and honestMust pass various American Welding Society (AWS) tests for Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding of carbon steel and aluminumMust have the ability to: multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environmentWork within tolerance as specified by drawings, prints or verbal instructionWork with precision tools and measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, and height gaugesRead and comprehend work instructions and printsUse hand tools and standard power toolsSet up and operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill pressesBe cross trained for multiple jobs within assigned work area(s)Lift/push/pull 50lbsRelentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvementA willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methodsStrong MIG and TIG welding and torch skillsExcellent math skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Skills:Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word preferredRequired Experience:At least 2 years of welding experience including the use of MIG, TIG, and aluminumAt least 3 years of experience as a machinist operating machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill pressesPreferred Experience:At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferredCurrent or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferredRequired Education:High School Diploma or GEDTechnical school training related to machining and/or weldingPreferred Education:Technical school training in CNC programming preferredRequired Qualifications:Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the futureDetails:This job description is not intended to be all-inclusiveThis is a safety sensitive positionIn exceptional circumstances, some of the physical requirements of this position may be modified or eliminated as a reasonable accommodation for a person with a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities ActPride Mobility Products®/Quantum Rehab® is an Equal Opportunity employer.
