Software Test Engineer

Position SummaryTeal Drones, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, is looking to fill an immediate position as a full-time Software Test Engineer. Teal is a rapidly growing technology company focused on creating world-class system solutions serving a broad range of applications forth design and development of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS drones) for use in defense, public safety, and other government security organizationsAs a Software Test engineer, you will create, implement and oversee the creation of testing parameters for an ever-changing software landscape. This role is critical to ensure Teal’s drones are safe, high-performing, and compliant with government and defense standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport the development of test requirements and detailed integration test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews (TRRs), test data and test reportsExecution of qualification and acceptance testing per requirements, plans and proceduresExecute tests, manage and prioritize problems/failuresWrite, review, and execute Engineering Verification Test (EVT), Design Verification Test (DVT),and Production Validation Test (PVT) proceduresDevelop automated test scripts and control logic to improve test repeatability, throughput,and data qualityCompile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirementsTroubleshoot both test and prototype issues & create Test Discrepancy Reports to document issuesCollaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders involved in the testing process.Review test plans, procedures, and reportsMaintain accurate documentation, test reports, and traceability within the PLM and requirements management systemsAutomate testingRequired QualificationsAutomation frameworks (Python, LabVIEW, etc.)Experience with UAVs, robotics, industrial automation, or complex electromechanical products8+ years of experience in systems engineering6+ years of experience with progressive responsibility in providing technical leadershipExperience developing test plans, writing test procedures, evaluating test data, and determining product acceptabilityAbility to troubleshoot test issues, identify root causes, and create corrective action processesExperience automating tests to ensure requirements are consistently metDegree in engineeringAdditional Desired QualificationsExperience with flight test or field testingPossession of excellent organizational, problem solving, and verbal and written communication skillsPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsMust be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as neededRequires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.Background CheckThis position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
