UX/GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Location hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 days of remote work (2 Broadway - MTA Headquarters) Qualifications Cover Letter: A brief cover letter expressing strong interest and passion for creative design work, showcasing experience and portfolio. Experience Level: 4–5 years of experience. This is a mid‑level individual contributor role with senior‑level scope and responsibility, though it does not include managing others. Portfolio: Well‑organized, easy‑to‑navigate design portfolio. No portfolio or cluttered/dated portfolio will not be considered. Portfolio Link: Direct link must be included in resume. Relevant Work: Experience designing customer‑facing solutions, particularly in B2B contexts. Disqualifying Work: Technical architect or game developer resumes are not considered. Avoid portfolios with internal‑facing or structural/technical focus. Bonus: Geospatial or mapping design, transit‑related design experience helpful but not required. Responsibilities Lead the end‑to‑end design process, from ideation through iteration to launch. Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across digital platforms (including all signage for NYCT/LIRR/MNR). Partner with UXR to understand rider needs, behaviors, and pain points; maintain a user feedback loop to continuously improve the experience. Establish and document UX processes and best practices. Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on user needs and business goals. Experience and Education 8+ years of experience in UX design, with a focus on mobile applications. Proven experience leading UX for complex digital products. Excellent visual design skills & experience with design systems. Preferred: Experience in the transportation industry or related fields; experience with accessibility guidelines.
