Position Summary - The Jiang Lab invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position. The postdoctoral researcher will lead independent research projects focused on developing next-generation neurotechnology and biomedical imaging methods, with particular emphasis on optical, ultrasound, and photoacoustic technologies. Working under the supervision of Dr. Ying Jiang, the candidate will contribute to the development of innovative approaches for neural circuit interrogation while collaborating with interdisciplinary research teams and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career scientists looking to develop a strong publication record and build an independent research trajectory within a highly collaborative and well-resourced environment. Responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, developing and integrating photoacoustic and ultrasound systems, validating technologies in animal models, and performing quantitative data analysis and computational modeling. The researcher will be expected to prepare manuscripts and conference presentations, contribute to grant proposals, help establish new technical capabilities and research directions within the laboratory, and work independently while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative research environment.

Basic Qualifications - Required: Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied physics, neuroscience, or a closely related field Strong record of peer-reviewed publications Substantial hands-on experience in experimental system development, instrumentation, or quantitative biomedical research Strong programming and data-analysis skills in MATLAB and/or Python Demonstrated ability to independently design experiments, troubleshoot complex technical problems, analyze data, and communicate research findings Excellent written and oral communication skills

Additional Qualifications - Preferred Skills: Research experience in optics, ultrasound/acoustics, photoacoustics, biomedical imaging, neuromodulation, or neuroengineering, particularly experience involving the development, integration, calibration, or characterization of optical or ultrasound instrumentation.
