Quality Control Technician

Quality Control TechnicianThe Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring ASC products meet established quality standards, engineering requirements, customer specifications, and applicable industry standards throughout the manufacturing process. This role performs in-process and final product inspections, supports continuous improvement initiatives, assists with ISO compliance activities, and works closely with production and quality leadership to identify, document, and resolve quality concerns. Success in this role is measured by product conformance, audit readiness, process compliance, defect reduction, and overall support of ASC's commitment to quality excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform product inspections during manufacturing to verify work is completed accurately and in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.Conduct final inspections to confirm completed products meet quality standards prior to shipment.Utilize quality checklists and inspection documentation to verify compliance with customer and ASC requirements.Identify, document, and communicate quality defects, non-conformances, and discrepancies according to established procedures.Interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure manufacturing accuracy.Quality Assurance & Process ComplianceMonitor production activities to ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed.Notify the Quality Manager of deviations from approved processes, procedures, or specifications.Support quality documentation and record retention requirements in accordance with ASC quality standards.Assist with maintaining compliance with ASC quality management systems and ISO requirements.Participate in internal quality audits and corrective action activities as assigned.Continuous Improvement & Problem SolvingAssist in quality investigations, complaint evaluations, corrective actions, and preventive actions.Support root cause analysis activities related to product defects, process issues, and customer concerns.Work closely with the Quality Manager and production teams to implement corrective actions and verify effectiveness.Recommend process improvements, quality tracking methods, and opportunities to improve manufacturing performance.Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.Collaboration & ReportingCommunicate quality concerns clearly and professionally with production, engineering, and management teams.Maintain accurate and timely inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.Support production teams by providing guidance on quality requirements and acceptance criteria.Participate in quality meetings and continuous improvement initiatives as required.Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForTwo or more years of experience in a quality control role within a manufacturing environment.Strong passion for quality and identifying the root causes of issues.Experience with manufacturing operations, fabrication processes, and production environments.Knowledge of welding standards and inspection practices preferred.Knowledge of electrical standards and quality requirements preferred.Familiarity with ISO quality management systems, audits, and compliance requirements.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Effective time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all organizational levels.Knowledge of Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, or related quality methodologies preferred.Core CompetenciesQuality FocusAttention to DetailRoot Cause AnalysisProblem SolvingProcess ComplianceContinuous ImprovementCommunication SkillsDocumentation & ReportingAccountabilityTeamwork & CollaborationPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to work in a manufacturing and office environment.Ability to routinely walk production floors and manufacturing areas.Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout facilities during inspections and audits.Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.Ability to wear required PPE while working in production environments.Visual acuity sufficient to identify defects, measure dimensions, and perform detailed inspections.Ability to work in varying manufacturing conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.Required Education/TrainingHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.Two or more years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment required.Experience in welding inspection or knowledge of welding standards preferred.Additional quality certifications or training are a plus.About ASC Acoustical Sheetmetal Company (ASC) provides on-site power integration for large-scale data centers.
