BENEFITS ASSISTANT

Summary of Position


This position provides support to the benefits team in the administration and day-to-day operation of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits. The Benefits Assistant provides exceptional customer service, assists with process improvement initiatives, and supports benefit enrollment, maintenance, and employee communications regarding benefit programs and coverage.


Responsibilities - Assist in the following tasks:

• Respond to employee and dependent benefit inquiries.
• Research and resolve benefit-related issues.
• Administer benefit changes due to employment status changes.

• Reconcile payroll deductions for benefit plans.

• Prepare benefit enrollment materials.

• Review and process enrollment elections.

• Process benefit termination and continuation coverage documentation.

• Maintain continuation coverage records and premium tracking.

• Support retirement plan administration.

• Coordinate eligibility and coverage communications.

• Conduct dependent eligibility audits.

• Assist with annual open enrollment.

• Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Advanced Excel skills preferred.

• Strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Commitment to organizational policies and values.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use office equipment.

• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
• Adequate vision for computer and office work.
