Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Infection Preventionist to join our team at CATALINA CARE CENTER LLC, a 80-bed skilled nursing facility located in the beautiful city of San Pedro, CA. As the Infection Preventionist, you will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining infection prevention and control programs to ensure the health and safety of our residents and staff. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention and control programs in accordance with current guidelines and regulations
- Conduct ongoing surveillance of infections and outbreaks and implement appropriate interventions to prevent the spread of infection
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to infection prevention and control
- Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention and control measures
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control strategies
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives related to infection prevention and control
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of infection prevention and control activities
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices related to infection prevention and control
Qualifications:
- Current LVN license in the state of California
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in infection prevention and control in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility
- Knowledge of current infection prevention and control guidelines and regulations
- Proficient in using electronic medical records and other healthcare software
