Get to Know Your Team:

• Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence recognized surgeons, imaging, and primary and specialty care.

Responsibilities:

• Provides specialized diagnostic imaging services that support the identification, evaluation, and treatment of medical conditions across diverse patient populations.
• Contributes to high-quality patient care through the safe use of radiopharmaceuticals, advanced imaging technology, and established clinical standards.
• Maintains accountability for image quality, radiation safety, and regulatory compliance while supporting efficient department operations.
• Prepares patients for nuclear medicine and positron emission tomography(PET)/computed tomography (CT)
• Administers radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with physician orders, safety standards, and established protocols.
• Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures and obtains diagnostic-quality images.
• Performs PET/CT scans using approved protocols.
• Evaluates image quality and applies corrective actions when necessary to optimize diagnostic results.
• Maintains compliance with radiation safety requirements, regulatory standards, and department policies.
• Performs quality control procedures on imaging equipment and related systems.
• Educates patients regarding procedures, expectations, and safety considerations.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely patient care and diagnostic services.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine.
• Certification and current registration for Registered Technologist (R.T.) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R ), ( ARRT)(N), or (CNMT) Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Nuclear Medicine Technologists that do not have the PET/CT skill set will be taught this skill set and must show competency within the first 3 months of hire.
