Job Summary:

The Pediatric Psychiatric Registered Nurse provides specialized mental health care to children and adolescents within a clinical setting. This role involves delivering comprehensive nursing interventions, supporting patient safety, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer direct and indirect patient care, utilizing the nursing process to develop individualized treatment plans.
  
  
• 
  Supervise and delegate tasks to support staff, ensuring consistent and safe patient care delivery.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient responses and update care plans accordingly, especially in high-stress situations.
  
  
• 
  Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and crisis prevention strategies.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective patient management strategies.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Current Maine RN license is required.
  
  
• 
  Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
  
  
• 
  Graduate of an approved Nursing program.
  
  
• 
  1-3 years of experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
  
  
• 
  Basic dysrhythmia knowledge or certification preferred.
  
  
• 
  CPI training or certification preferred.
