This position starts at a salary of $70,623.00 (GS-09, Step 1) to $111,087.00 (GS-11, Step 10) with promotion potential to $111,087.00 (GS-11 Step 10).

In this position you will work with a team of CBP support personnel to:

• Scheduling, planning and monitor office supplies and supply levels, determining re-orders needed to ensure a sufficient stock of items.
• Assisting senior level specialists in building relationships with General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Protective Services, and contractors to coordinate meeting the needs of the facility.
• Assist the property coordinator in receiving, transferring, excessing and retiring various types of property.
• Providing s support to senior personnel in supply/logistic activities such as fleet, facilities support and supply management.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

• Utilizing techniques of logistics and supply management to provide effective and accurate mission support.
• Using computer software to develop/maintain electronic files including inventory reports, presentations and spreadsheets.
• Providing advice, planning, and support in procurement, budget, inventory, supply management, and data processing.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

• Resolving logistic issues, emphasizing both efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations; managed logistics information systems, developing both long- and short-range planning for mission support.
• Coordinating organizational supply programs and assisted with maintenance of property records.
• Assisting management to develop consolidated budget estimates.

Education Substitution:

• GS-09: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent degree, or two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B or J.D (if related) from an accredited college or university, may be substituted for experience at the GS-09 grade level. Such education must demonstrate the skills necessary to do the work. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise two years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 36 semester or 54 quarter hours.

• GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M (if related) from an accredited college or university, may be substituted for experience at the GS-11 grade level. Such education must demonstrate the skills necessary to do the work. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise three years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 54 semester or 81 quarter hours.

Combining Education and Experience:

To combine your education and experience, you must convert each to a percentage and then add the percentages. The combined total of your percentage of education and experience must equal at least 100% in order to qualify. If your education is currently described in quarter hours, convert the quarter hours into semester hours by multiplying the quarter hours by the fraction 2/3. To calculate your percentage of graduate education, divide the number of graduate semester hours in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level, by 18 (1 year of graduate study = 18 semester hours). To determine your percentage of qualifying experience, you must divide your total number of months of qualifying experience by the required number of months of experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
