Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician Assistant

Locums - Memphis, Tennessee, Physician Assistant CVT Surgery Opening

Assignment Dates: 6/15/26 - 12/31/26

Practice Setting:

• Hospital-based Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery coverage
• OR, inpatient rounding, and call coverage only
• No clinic responsibilities
• No transplant cases

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Assisting with CABG and open heart surgeries
• Valve repair and replacement procedures
• EVH / vein harvesting with demonstrated independent ability
• SFA exposure
• Sternotomy closure
• Critical care management
• CVICU coverage
• Pre-operative and post-operative patient care
• Impella management
• Endoscopic radial artery harvesting
• Chest tube placement
• Arterial and venous sheath placement
• Central venous line placement

Coverage & Workflow:

• In-house call coverage
• Call is for assigned patients only
• Approximately 10 patients rounded on daily
• Approximately 10 phone consults
• Approximately 10 patients seen daily
• 3 providers supporting OR, hospital, and general coverage needs

Facility Information:

• Hospital stroke certified

EMR: Cerner

Requirements:

• Board Certified - Required
• ACLS - Required
• Strong Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery experience required
