JOB SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Provider (BHP)provides behavioral health consultation, brief assessment, groups, prevention and interventions to children, adolescents and adults within their medical home to improve psychosocial functioning. Additionally, the BHP provides clinical mentorship to other BHPs, and Master's and Doctorate level interns. The BHP works closely with BH Director to develop, implement, and/or refine Behavioral Health Program initiatives.

PAY & BENEFITS: Tepeyac offers a full compensation package to all full-time employees. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, a flexible spending account, a 401k, disability insurance paid for by Tepeyac, eight paid holidays, four weeks of vacation and over eight days of sick leave each year. Licensed providers receive time off and reimbursement for CME and reimbursement for the Colorado licensing renewal fee.

The salary range for a Licensed Behavioral Health Provider is $73,651 - $77,476, depending on experience.

The salary range for an Unlicensed Behavioral Health Provider is $63,710- $67,019, depending on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Familiarity with the DSM V and diagnostic techniques.
  • Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
  • Conduct mental health screenings utilizing standardized instruments and assess clients to determine appropriate level of treatment in accordance with relevant ethical and legal standards.
  • Manage psychosocial aspects of chronic and acute diseases as well as substance use in addition to educating clients and families with prevention and treatment enhancement techniques.
  • Provide counseling to individuals, families, as well as groups. Provide evidence-based care appropriate to the age and needs of patients with a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens. Develop treatment plans; monitor treatment progress and follow-up at disposition times.
  • Ability to work on a strength-based and client-centered perspective: focus on what people can do, not on what they can't do.
  • Provide PCP-initiated consultation services that may include differential diagnosis, psychoeducation, brief intervention, and referral for further treatment. Consult with and advise other health care team members on the methods of assisting patients and their families in overcoming social and emotional difficulties which may prevent effective health care.
  • Provide case management services to patients, as needed. Make appropriate referrals to outside community resources and advocate for appropriate services for patients when indicated.
  • Follow procedures for the electronic health records system for accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with organizational standards.
  • Create written material for use in psychoeducation of patients referencing established, peer reviewed, and evidenced-based practices.
  • Demonstrate cross-systems relationship development skills. Creative a positive approach to communication and problem-solving.
  • Participate in team meetings, in-services and supervisory sessions as required.
  • Ability to execute work plans and manage caseload independently and with flexibility. Ability to multitask, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Attend required internal meetings, trainings, events and supervisory sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, or clinical social work.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado, preferred but not required.
  • Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a psychotherapist, preferred. Experience in other integrated and mental health settings in addition to collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with a primary care/pediatric environment is a plus.
  • Oral and written fluency in English and oral fluency in Spanish required.
  • Support learning and case consultation for unlicensed BHPs and/or BH interns.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Strong initiative and passion to advocate and provide healthcare to low income, diverse populations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and Saturday mornings.
  • Thinks creatively and is open to working in common works spaces.
  • Awareness of screeners: PHQ9, GAD7, AUDITC/SBIRT and ACE.
