About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Asheville, North Carolina, 28801!
Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Stepdown experience Telemetry experience Description: Primary patient population includes CV surgery and vascular surgery. Procedures include open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and vascular surgeries. Also receives overflow medical cardiology patients with various diagnoses. There are 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds on the unit. Staff consists of approximately 100 members. Patient ratios are 1:5 for RNs and 1:13 for PCTs. Typical equipment includes IV pumps and various lifts. Electronic medical records are managed through a specific EMR system. Candidates must be team players and enjoy a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is essential for this role. Preferred candidates will have prior CV surgery and vascular surgery experience. Typical procedures performed include epidural management, chest tube management, and IV medication management. Weekend requirements include a minimum of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule.
