Physical Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation

Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM | Minimum 2 weekend shifts per month | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop individualized treatment plans and goals aimed at progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to address barriers to discharge, including equipment trialing and ordering, patient and family training, home exercise program issuance, and coordination of continuing services.
• Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions effectively, ensuring the plan of care is communicated, implemented, and progressed throughout the patient's length of stay.
• Complete accurate and timely medical record documentation including daily notes, goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
• Participate in student clinical education programs as assigned, providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.
• Actively engage in professional development through continuing education, self-study, and professional organization involvement, and apply learned knowledge to meet organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida.
• Adherence to the state Physical Therapy Practice Act and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.
• Demonstrated competency in inpatient rehabilitation patient care, including safe patient handling and caseload management.
• Ability to complete thorough clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
• Commitment to patient and employee safety standards across all aspects of care delivery.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
• Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiatives within a hospital environment.
• Experience supervising Physical Therapy students or clinical affiliates.
