May have supervisory duties over projects or personnel. On-site electrically minded mechanic to repair, maintain, rehab, and upgrade Sperry systems on across vehicle fleet. Shop based with up to 50% travel to perform urgent repairs.Essential FunctionsFollow company safety policies in both the shop and the field.Repair and maintain field vehicles, Rail bound, HI Rail and related equipment/ components, perform field order repairs, inspection, adjustments and troubleshoots maintenance issues.Report/record the condition of vehicles. (Audits)Fabrication and modification of new or existing equipment when required.Ensure, vehicle & equipment meets safety and quality compliance standards, participate in safety, health and environmental programs.Performs maintenance related special projects as required.Ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.Perform vehicle audits and log work orders.Work under limited supervision following procedures to complete assigned tasksDiagnose and repair controls systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and electrical repairs.Dynamic component repairs and routine maintenanceGenerator repairs and maintenanceResponding to service calls and emergency breakdownsMaintain clean workspace and monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate resources to perform required tasksConduct routine safety checks on all vehicles and equipmentIdentifies and completes repairs identified on Vehicle auditsDepartment Specific/Non-Essential FunctionsOther duties as assigned with or without accommodation.Minimum RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma/GED2 years electrical experience2 years truck mechanical experienceAbility to read wiring diagrams and assembly drawingsMechanical experience with work equipment, heavy trucksParticipate in after hours on call rotationSkills/Competencies: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Maintain a relationship with the customer and follow up on all customer complaints. Always maintain a professional and positive attitude toward employees and customers.Preferred: Commercial Driver's License (CDL B) or equivalentOrganizational Relationships/ScopeInteracts at all levels within organization. Interacts with customers personnel. Interacts across departmental boundaries. Scope: Actions may have impact on customer relationships and financial condition of the Company.Working ConditionsReports to Assigned facility. Travel for maintenance related issues can require up to 50 % travel.Safety ComplianceAdhere to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
