Assistant Store Manager

Timberline Ace is a second generation, family‑owned business with six locations across Colorado including Norwood, Telluride, Aspen, Carbondale, Battlement Mesa, and Clifton. Position Summary Seeking a Driven Assistant Manager who shares our passion for customer service, is eager to learn across landscaping, hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical, and DIY projects, and can build a motivated sales‑oriented team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service Provide a positive representation of Timberline Ace Hardware. Proactively assist customers in solving problems. Greet customers entering the store and thank them when they finish shopping. Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates. Ensure all phone calls and in‑store inquiries are answered promptly, courteously, and effectively. Handle customer complaints that are escalated to management. Maintain strong product knowledge and familiarity with store layout. Assist customers throughout the store with personalized, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time. Store Operations Responsible for opening and closing. Assist in creating a positive, professional, and safe work environment. Assist with receiving, checking in, and stocking merchandise throughout the store. Assist with maintaining back‑stock levels. Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness of the sales floor, stockrooms, bathrooms, and outdoor merchandise area. Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store. Aid Department Specialists, e.g., price changes, special orders. Ensure signage is current throughout the store. Communicate any merchandising, cost‑control, or sales ideas to Store Manager or GM. Be professional in appearance and actions. Coach employees. Uphold Timberline standards. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Strong leadership and communication skills. Exceptional time‑management skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Passion for delivering outstanding customer service . Ability to lift 60 pounds and stand and walk for up to 10 hours during shifts as required. Excellent written and computer skills required. Retail management experience highly encouraged. This position requires travel to other Timberline Ace locations (Telluride, Clifton, Battlement Mesa, Carbondale, Aspen) for company‑paid training and company activities. Hourly wages with a 40–50 hour weekly minimum requirement. Vacation and sick pay must be communicated and approved by the Store Manager. Flexibility in workdays and hours, including holidays, weekends, and various shifts, is required.
