Foundry Worker Material Handler

A Foundry Worker Material Handler operates machinery and lifts heavy materials to support metal casting, cleaning, and moving raw materials or finished castings throughout the facility. They prepare molds, operate furnaces, and use forklifts or cranes for transport, requiring strong physical stamina, safety awareness, and often a high school diploma or GED.

1st Shift

7am- 3:30pm

Pay Rate: $17.00-18.00/hr and up (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Material Movement: Transporting raw materials, sand, and finished metal castings to and from production areas, furnaces, and storage.
• Machine Operation: Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and conveyors to move heavy components safely.
• Production Support: Assisting with the melting and pouring of molten metal into molds and removing castings after solidification.
• Mold & Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining production equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure safety standards.
• Inventory & Logistics: Tracking, sorting, and organizing materials to maintain inventory accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and work in high-temperature environments.
• Certification: Often requires forklift or OSHA certifications.
• Education: High school diploma or GED is usually required.
• Skills: Ability to follow safety protocols and read, understand, or follow instructions (verbal or written).

• Exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.
• Requires personal protective equipment (PPE).
