We support dealers, distributors, OEM partners, and professional end users across domestic and international markets. We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team and help build strong financial systems, accurate reporting, and efficient business processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, improving systems, and ensuring financial accuracy across a fast‑moving manufacturing and ecommerce environment. Position Overview The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, financial reporting, compliance support, and operational finance processes. This is a hands‑on role that requires strong attention to detail, a systems‑thinking mindset, and the ability to work across multiple platforms and departments. The ideal candidate actively looks for ways to automate, streamline, and improve financial workflows while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Core Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Operations Manage and support accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) Post, categorize, and reconcile daily financial transactions Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and merchant processing accounts Process customer refunds and ensure proper accounting treatment Monitor, review, and help optimize credit card processing and POS fees Assist with cash management and daily/weekly cash flow tracking Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation Recordkeeping & Expense Management Maintain detailed recordkeeping for receipts, invoices, and financial documentation Track and reconcile employee expenses, including travel expenses and business‑related expenses, ensuring proper documentation and categorization of all expenses for reporting and compliance purposes Prepare and present financial statements, including balance sheet and cash flow reports Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Support inventory valuation tracking and reporting Provide financial insights to support leadership decision‑making Payroll, Tax & Compliance Support Assist with payroll processing and payroll record management Support payroll tax filings and compliance Manage multi‑state sales and use tax compliance Assist with corporate tax documentation and coordination as needed Compliance & External Coordination Support import/export compliance reporting and documentation, including ATF Form 6 filings, AES (Automated Export System) filings, and other required regulatory submissions Serve as the primary liaison between Herrington Arms and external accounting firms and insurance providers Systems, Process Improvement & Operations Work within and maintain accounting systems including QuickBooks Online and Google Workspace Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve accounting and operational workflows Document and maintain clear accounting and financial procedures Support cross‑functional finance and operations projects Assist with cost analysis and identifying efficiency improvements across the business Qualifications & Requirements Required Qualifications Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping fundamentals Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Strong organizational and time‑management skills Proficiency with business software and accounting systems Strong computer literacy and ability to quickly learn new systems Familiarity with GAAP concepts Understanding of sales tax, use tax, and multi‑state compliance basics Preferred Qualifications Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software Experience in manufacturing, ecommerce, or inventory‑based businesses Payroll processing experience Exposure to import/export compliance processes (ATF, AES, etc.) Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, or forecasting Background in process improvement or systems optimization Performance Bonuses 401(k) with Company Match & Profit Sharing Major Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance (50% employer‑paid) Paid Time Off Why Join Herrington Arms?
