Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving a diverse patient population including cardiac, pulmonary, orthopedic, post-operative, pediatric, and detox patients
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of no more than 5 patients per nurse
• Document telemetry strip readings faxed from the ICU and coordinate with monitoring staff accordingly
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy for management of CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
• Float to other units as needed to serve as a tasker or additional support
• Rotate holiday coverage with regular staff and adhere to manager-assigned scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current NIHSS certification (required)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR (prior Epic experience is required)
• Prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers will not be considered)
• Strong Medical Surgical background with experience managing a high variety of patient diagnoses

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS and/or PALS certification (recommended but not required)
• Experience working with pediatric patients in a Medical Surgical setting
• Familiarity with block scheduling preferences and flexibility in shift arrangements
