Director Trade Controls

The Global Trade Compliance organization seeks a Director to lead trade controls strategy and compliance activities for the Innovative Medicines and Medical Technology segments across the Americas. This role involves managing a team of trade professionals, ensuring adherence to import and export regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional partners across Johnson & Johnson's global trade ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and update enterprise trade controls standards in partnership with compliance functions and regional teams
• Lead and supervise team of trade controls professionals supporting Innovative Medicines and Medical Technology segments
• Direct Americas valuation activities and advise business segments on existing and emerging trade regulations
• Establish and measure trade-related data, process, and automation initiatives aligned with enterprise strategy
• Drive global scorecards, incident management, gap identification, and continuous improvement of compliance metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; master's or advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years business experience, preferably in global trade compliance or risk management
• Licensed Customs Broker certification or equivalent customs license preferred
• Demonstrated import and export regulatory knowledge with ability to ensure supply chain continuity
• Experience defining, assessing, and measuring country-specific regulatory compliance programs
• Proven track record delivering complex programs through influence and cross-functional leadership
• Prior experience implementing global trade compliance programs in life sciences or healthcare preferred

Compensation: $150,000–$258,750 base
