Shifts are available as 8-hour or 10-hour days: 8-4, 9-5, 10-6, or 8-6. There is no call requirement.

Job Description

The registered nurse will provide care in the PACU/Recovery Room, managing patients post-anesthesia in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patients, administering medications, and monitoring recovery.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient status in the PACU/Recovery Room.
• Administer medications and manage pain control as per protocols.
• Provide education and support to patients and families post-surgery.
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams for optimal patient care.
• Document all patient interactions and care activities in the EMR (Allscripts).
• Participate in recovery of a diverse range of surgical patients.
• Be flexible with scheduling and patient caseloads, including staying until procedures are complete.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Experience in PACU/Recovery Room is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips.
