Minimum of 5 years of clinical laboratory, preferably in a clinic setting. QC review, POC instruments, phlebotomy skills, and drug screen collection experience desired. Teaching experience is a plus. Completion of an approved program of training for Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist. ASCP or AMT certification preferred. Job Summary: Discover a rewarding career at Arcare. TheAssistant Director of Lab Servicesworks as part of the health care team to improve the quality, safety,accuracy,and efficiency of health care services under the direction of the Director of Lab Services.The Assistant Director of Lab Servicesisresponsibleforthe overall performance of thecompaniesCLIA-waived and complex laboratoriesforqualityand compliancein accordance withOSHA, CLIA, CDC, TJC and other applicable standards. The Assistant Director of Lab Services works with the Director of Lab Services in revising procedures, managing new clinic setups and applications, revising workflows, and creating uniformity throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities: Inspects laboratories and clinics on a scheduled basis for compliance in areas of safety, security, and laboratory quality. Reports areas of insufficient compliance to the Director of Lab Services, and other appropriate managers . Assists in coordinating new clinic setup and go live processes. Assists Director of Lab Services in reviewing and modifying workflows as needed to ensure proper operations. Utilizes professional judgment to assess the need for improvements or additional clinical/laboratory staff education. Provides education as needed. Resolve technical problems and ensure that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications. Maintains lab competency and lab inspection spreadsheets. Assists Director of Lab Services with development or revision of laboratory policy and procedures Assists in communicating with reference laboratories, vendors, and departments in Arcare to ensure optimal operations. Performs data collection and interpretation to target areas of concern in all steps of the analytical process. Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner and in compliance with Arcare policies. Performs other duties as assigned.
