The Emergency Department (ED) at Canyon Vista Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for the delivery of patient care. This 22-bed unit operates within a trauma III hospital setting, ensuring patients receive optimal medical attention and support.An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who excels in this role:Safely navigates ambulance to patient's location.Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care.
