As a global, employee-owned consultancy, we are driven by innovation, sustainability, and excellence across our core sectors.We are seeking a Senior Building Structures and MEP Manager to join our team in Austin, Texas, supporting a major, high-profile transit program that will transform mobility and connectivity across the city.Based within the client’s office, you will work in a fully integrated delivery environment on a complex rail corridor project.In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of station packages across a program of predominantly at-grade stations, alongside a landmark elevated station. You will ensure the effective integration of MEP systems design - providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams in a complex, safety-critical rail environment, including oversight of traction power, station infrastructure, and passenger-focused design elements.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate and manage the delivery of MEP, building systems and structural design across multiple station and ancillary facilities packagesOversee key design elements including:Right-of-Way (ROW) lighting study and design and power distributionFire & Life Safety systems and code compliancePedestrian modelling and station capacity planningStructural designProvide technical leadership and integration across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment between architecture, structures, rail systems, and utilitiesAct as a key interface within the client-embedded delivery team, supporting real-time decision-making and collaboration – conveying messages to the MEP and structural designersSupport utility coordination, third-party interfaces, and permitting activities within complex urban right-of-way environmentsEnsure the delivery of safe, reliable, and compliant station environments, aligned with industry standards and transit design best practiceSupport safety assurance, certification, and commissioning activities for station systems and infrastructureContribute to the delivery of high-quality, passenger-focused station environments, supporting accessibility, usability, and urban integrationSupport design management functions including scope, schedule, risk, quality, and value engineeringMentor and develop engineers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environmentCandidate Specification:We are looking for a highly experienced, delivery-focused leader with a strong background in transit infrastructure and station design:10+ years of experience in Building MEP Systems engineering within transportation or infrastructure sectorsBSc / MSc in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Texas, or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 monthsProven experience delivering transit stations or complex vertical infrastructure (e.g., depots, rail stations, public-use facilities)Strong understanding of integrated station systems, including electrical systems, safety systems, and passenger environmentsDemonstrated experience in design management and multidisciplinary coordination, particularly across MEP and Buildings Systems interfacesExperience working in client-facing or embedded delivery environments on large programsStrong knowledge of codes, standards, and safety considerations associated with rail and public infrastructure systemsExcellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skillsAdditional InformationFull-time Austin-based positionRelocation support may be available for candidates looking to move to AustinOpportunity to contribute to a once-in-a-generation infrastructure program with long-term impact on how the city moves and growsBenefits & RewardAt Mott MacDonald, our employees have a stake and a voice in our business, providing them with a direct connection to our success through our personal and group performance bonuses.
