Ultrasonic Weld Inspector

We are seeking an Ultrasonic Weld Inspector to support quality assurance efforts by inspecting welded components and assemblies to ensure compliance with industry standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This role is responsible for performing non-destructive testing (NDT), identifying weld defects, maintaining inspection documentation, and collaborating with production teams to ensure the highest levels of quality and safety.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and experienced in weld inspection and ultrasonic testing within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Position Responsibilities

Weld Inspection & Quality Verification

• Inspect welded components and assemblies to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Evaluate weld quality, workmanship, and dimensional accuracy.
• Identify defects, non-conformances, and areas requiring corrective action.
• Verify compliance with welding procedures and quality standards.

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

• Perform ultrasonic testing examinations on welded materials and structures.
• Interpret test results and identify discontinuities or defects.
• Prepare and document inspection findings accurately.
• Ensure testing activities comply with established NDT procedures and industry requirements.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed inspection records and testing reports.
• Prepare non-conformance reports (NCRs) and quality documentation as required.
• Support traceability and record retention requirements.
• Ensure inspection data is complete, accurate, and properly filed.

Welding Compliance Support

• Review welding procedures and supporting documentation.
• Verify welder qualifications and certification records.
• Assist with quality audits and compliance activities.
• Support corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.

Production Collaboration

• Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to address weld-related concerns.
• Assist with troubleshooting weld defects and repair activities.
• Provide technical feedback to improve welding processes and product quality.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Prerequisites

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience performing ultrasonic testing and weld inspections.
• Experience inspecting welds in accordance with recognized industry standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and welding documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform inspections in various work conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)

• NDT Level II Certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Certification
• Additional NDT Certifications
• OSHA Safety Training Certifications
