Field Service Technician / Field Service EngineerLocation: Mid-Atlantic Region (PA / MD / surrounding areas)Travel: ~50% (regional travel to customer sites)About the RoleWe are working with a growing industrial packaging and material handling solutions company that designs and delivers custom packaging systems and automation solutions to manufacturing customers.They are looking for a Field Service Technician / Field Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment at customer sites across the Mid-Atlantic region.This is a hands-on role requiring a strong mix of mechanical and electrical experience, along with the ability to work directly with customers in plant environments.Equipment You'll Work OnMaterial handling systems (conveyors, racks, bins, automation solutions)Packaging systems and custom containersAutomated production and handling equipmentAssembly and integration systemsFood processing and packaging machinery (as applicable)Key ResponsibilitiesPerform installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sitesConduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on mechanical and electrical systemsExecute preventative maintenance and repairs on installed systemsSupport equipment startups and system optimizationProvide onsite technical support and customer trainingWork closely with engineering and operations teams to resolve issuesRead and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and manualsDocument service activities, reports, and recommendationsEnsure all work is performed safely and meets quality standardsWhat They're Looking ForStrong background in mechanical and/or electrical systems (ideally both)Experience working on packaging machinery, automation equipment, or food processing systemsHands-on experience with: InstallationCommissioningTroubleshootingMaintenanceAbility to work independently in customer-facing environmentsStrong problem-solving and diagnostic skillsComfortable with travel (~50%) within the regionGood communication and customer interaction skillsPreferred ExperiencePLC exposure or basic troubleshooting (not required but a plus)Experience in manufacturing, packaging, or food production plantsBackground with capital equipment or industrial systemsWhy This OpportunityWork with custom-engineered systems (not repetitive work)Exposure to a wide range of industrial and packaging technologiesOpportunity to develop both technical and customer-facing skillsJoin a company focused on innovation, efficiency, and growthEOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
