Design Engineer

Location: Brodhead, WI | Schedule: Full-time, on-site Overview Our client is an established manufacturer with a long operating history in the agricultural equipment industry, producing large-scale equipment used by farms and livestock operations nationwide. The company is seeking a Design Engineer to design and redesign major pieces of agricultural equipment, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. This role plays a key part in maintaining the quality, safety, and innovation of the company's product line. What you'll do Design and redesign feed mixers for livestock using Creo, working on a project basis Develop and evaluate product designs based on customer needs, manufacturability, cost, and safety Develop design specifications in collaboration with product management, sales and marketing, manufacturing, product development teams, product/applications testing, and customers on assigned projects Develop test plans and direct testing of designs with test personnel Set product quality and tolerance specifications for designs Design and/or select hydraulic, power transmission, and structural components Work with manufacturing to develop tooling and new manufacturing processes as assigned Develop deep knowledge of the company's products by attending trade shows, engaging with customers, understanding service requirements, and monitoring competitors Stay current on new products, technologies, and competitive equipment in the industry and share findings with company personnel Required qualifications BS Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering 1+ year of experience designing agricultural or heavy mobile equipment (internship experience counts) Good 3D CAD skills; the team uses Creo Preferred qualifications Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining, and welding would be very helpful A farm background would be wonderful Compensation and benefits 3% employer match on 401(k) Health, vision, and dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Employee Assistance Program Life insurance Reliable bonus program Relocation assistance if needed Why this role This is an opportunity to contribute to the design of major agricultural equipment for a company with a strong culture of safety, continuous improvement, and employee growth, while enjoying real work/life balance and a business casual workplace. #J-18808-Ljbffr Software Placement Group, SPG
