RN - Neuro PCU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Neuro Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Rotating 3x12 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in telemetry, neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown care License: Active nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with telemetry, neuro stepdown, and related patient care Description:This position involves working in a busy neuro/trauma stepdown unit.The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients with stroke, neurosurgery, trauma, and general medical/surgical needs.Patients typically require stepdown level of care.The usual patient assignment is 1:4 but may be higher depending on available resources.Special procedures include lumbar drains, NIHSS assessments, and stroke education.The nurse will manage various tasks, including accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and post-TPA care.Candidates are required to have experience with high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, and seizure disorders.Travelers must meet specific compliance requirements prior to starting the position.There are specific guidelines around fit testing for masks, where shaving is mandatory to ensure proper seal.Failure to comply with fit testing regulations will result in cancellation of the position.The role may require working every other weekend and occasional night shifts as needed.Interdisciplinary support is available, including therapy and social services.Effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team are essential for patient care. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet HealthStaff
