Accountant

Accountant Pay Rate: 30-35 per hour Hybrid in Dalton, GA 6 month contract to start. This position within the General Accounting department will be responsible for performing accounting duties for the assigned entities. This position includes managing relationships with local accountants or service providers and applying local and US GAAP accounting principles to prepare accurate and timely reporting and related analyses.  

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related.
• 3+ years accounting experience in accounting or finance.
• Excellent Excel Skills.
• Knowledge of accounting systems (Oracle especially).
• Existing understanding and knowledge of GAAP.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and ability to work with detail.
• Follows direction without close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries with adequate supporting documentation.
• Monitor, maintain and reconcile cash and AR transactions.
• Manage month/quarter/year-end process to ensure all is accomplished on a timely basis to meet
• required deadlines internally and externally.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Document and maintain current processes and procedures.
• Participate in business and system projects that impact general accounting.
• Work with all areas of Finance (Financial Services, Treasury, Corporate Assets and Tax) and outside
• of Finance (IS group, Customer service, etc.) to support financial governance.
• Recognize process improvement opportunities and make recommendations to improve quality,
• timeliness and accuracy of transactions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
