Thermoplastic Injection Molding Equipment Reliability TechnicianLocation: Livonia, MICompensation: Direct-hire with NYX, $30–$35 per hourWhat your day looks likeYou’ll be the hands-on problem solver who keeps our injection molding operation running at peak performance. From diagnosing electrical faults to rebuilding pneumatic systems and performing precision mechanical repairs, you’ll ensure uptime across molding machines and plant support equipment.Core responsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molding machines and associated production systems.Perform electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic diagnostics and corrective actions.Execute preventive and predictive maintenance; complete work orders and maintenance check documentation.Support a wide range of assets: molding machines, robots, thermolators, dryers, conveyors, air compressors, vacuum pumps, building utilities, and other plant systems.Follow lockout/tagout and plant safety procedures; uphold 5S housekeeping standards; report safety concerns and injuries promptly.Apply basic knowledge of TS16949 and the company’s Quality Policy in daily work.Complete additional maintenance tasks and training as assigned.Required backgroundAt least 3 to 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience with plastic injection molding equipment used to produce automotive interior components.Note: General maintenance experience or process setup/mold-setting experience alone does not meet this requirement.Mechanical aptitude and either a minimum Associate Degree or equivalent maintenance experience.Experience in an industrial production environment is desired.Strong troubleshooting abilities; flexibility to work a variable schedule and overtime on short notice.Solid understanding of safety practices in an industrial setting.Technical proficienciesElectrical Troubleshooting Skills; Electrical Systems Diagnostics & RepairMechanical Troubleshooting SkillsPneumatics Experience and Pneumatics TroubleshootingSingle and Three Phase PowerLockout/Tagout (LOTO)Electrical Schematic Reading; Blueprint ReadingMaintenance and Repair SkillsExperience in a Manufacturing EnvironmentInjection Molding ExperienceElectrical Systems & Diagnostics (Heavy Equipment)Tools and technologies you’ll useVoltage DetectorMultimeterInjection Molding Machines: Milacron, Toshiba, Van Dorn, Engel, Husky, HaitianPhysical demandsStanding – frequently required on concrete floor when repairing equipmentWalking – sometimes required during repairing or doing maintenanceLifting – frequent lifting from floor to waist levelReaching – frequently extending arms and hands in front of body and below the waist when repairing machinesTurning/twisting – required all the time to perform job functionsBending/stooping – occasionally required*The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
