Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support day-to-day receivables operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Truckee, California. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with financial records, and confident managing billing, payment activity, and customer account follow-up. The individual in this role will help maintain healthy cash flow by ensuring invoices, incoming payments, and account balances are processed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities:

• Manage customer invoicing and ensure billing records are issued accurately and on schedule.

• Apply incoming payments to the appropriate accounts and reconcile cash receipts against open balances.

• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with commercial customers to resolve overdue accounts.

• Review daily cash activity and maintain accurate documentation for all account transactions.

• Investigate payment discrepancies, short pays, and unapplied cash to support timely resolution.

• Work closely with internal teams to address account questions and improve the accuracy of receivable records.

• Prepare account status updates and aging information to support financial tracking and reporting.

• Experience working in accounts receivable or a closely related accounting function.

• Working knowledge of billing processes, cash application, and account reconciliation.

• Background in commercial collections and customer account follow-up.

• Ability to review financial details carefully and identify inconsistencies in payment activity.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Proficiency with accounting systems and standard business software such as spreadsheets and email.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with customers .
